The Cargo pod allows the owner of a CT aircraft to carry bulky packages “outside” the cabin and the regular baggage compartment. It was developed to take a folding wheelchair for disabled persons or a foldable bicycle with the CTLS. Also other goods up to 50 kg (110 lbs) are easy to store. The 4 point mounting system allows a single person to assemble or disassemble the pod in less than 10 minutes.
The near neutral position to C/G and the aerodynamic shape avoid significant changes in the flight characteristics. The primary construction in carbon composite material is a guaranty for strength and lightweight. All materials are approved for aircraft use.
For pilots with several disabilities it was necessary to create a way to use a CT aircraft without any limitations. In cooperation with a German society what supports abled people to come back to real life we developed an easy to install / remove as well as a safe system for CT aircraft. Most mechanical components are industrial standard. In final development is the integration of a throttle control and a quick release for the joystick plus equipment for easier entry by the pilot requiring no assistance. As additional equipment a “Cargo pod” for the transport of a wheel chair is available.
